Three surrealism photographers/artists
Surrealism is a 20th century movement in art and literature. Its captures images that look like special effects. None the pictures are realistic. It often makes the pictures look like dreams.
Ronan Goldman - Ronan Goldman is an artist and surreal photographer. He created "Photo-Dreams" which is him creating photographs of his dream. As you can see from the picture below, most of his images transmit a mix of deep sensations such as happiness, sadness and nightmares - as dreams often do.
ANALYSIS
If the rocks drops it may break. This symbolizes strength, the strength of the rock. If the rock symbolises strength then the man must be the weak link of the picture.
He has edited it, possibly on Photoshop. I like how he made the rock bigger. This is a good change of proportion as the rock is too big. As its black and white with no colour, this gives a dull effect. This has possibly been done to make it look sad.
Man Ray - Emmanuel Radnitzky, best known as Man Ray was a North American artist who spent most of his career in France. He was a contributor to the surrealist movement. He produced major work in media but he considered himself a painter more then anything else. He was best known for his photography and he was a famous fashion and portrait photographer. Man Ray is also noted for his work with photograms, which he called "Rayographs" in reference to himself.

Kyle Thompson
Kyle Thompson - Kyle Thompson is a fine art photographer who was born in Chicago on January 11th, 1992. He began taking photographs in 2011 at the age of 19 after finding interest in nearby abandoned houses. His work is mostly self portraits, often taking place in empty forests and abandoned homes. The photographer to me has used the head as a central focus point, a small depth of field has been used because the background is not in focus. I think the leaves on this photo have been enhanced on Photoshop, to reflect the skin-tones of his face. I also think the leaves have been enhanced to make the picture look more effective. When I look at this picture I think it's a dream of someone coming out of the puddle, because his facial expressions are calm. Because if he was drowning, he would look panicked.
Ben Heine
These are pictures created by Ben Heine. The picture I like the most out of these three is the one on the right. Reason why is because it is the most realistic looking one in my opinion, he drew a portrait drawing of the man, even including the hair to make it match. He also drew parts of the shirt and parts of his bag, and he didn't miss anything out. Everything looks on point. Ben makes it look like as if the man behind the paper looks exactly like the drawing. What makes it look surreal is that Ben draws fairies and babies next to the person's head. The colours he uses are mainly black and white. He lines up the paper in proportion with what he's drawing, this must be difficult to do as he has to think about the background as well.

My shoot
The shoot I'm going to plan is to have an of an object like a bottle and have someone pretending to run into it. I will use one of my classmates as my model, and collect numerous objects like water jugs, cups and drinking cans.
Sometimes blurred photos are the result of movement which is known as camera shake. I will need to hold my camera steady in order for this not to happen.
A fast shutter speed may capture me running, but a slower shutter speed may produce a blurred effect against a still background. A photographer can also create a sense of speed by panning the camera and following the subject, blurring the background but keeping the subject in focus.

I'm also going to have pictures of a building and someone pretending to pick it up.

WORK on photoshop
I have used a magnetic tool, a eraser and the "magic wand" to delete the background from my photographs. This allowed me to use the image of the bottle separately so I could resize it using free transform/scale. I have made this image to look like I'm running towards a large bottle.
I've used the same skills on PhotoShop to create this image but it was more difficult. I've left the background image to make it look more surreal.
When I was creating this image, I was getting ideas of my other shoots. I layered the image and use the opacity tool.
Plan for next shoot
For my second shoot, I am going to create an image of my hand going in to the computer. On the computer screen, I'm going to have a picture of an animal's mouth open. It will look like I'm putting my hand inside it's mouth. It will create a surrealism effect.
I will use the computer room and I will need someone to take the picture.

Work done on photoshop
To create the image, I used the editing tools. I used the magic wand to delete unwanted parts of the pictures, I also used transform which allowed me to rotate, scale, skew and warp the image until I was happy with the way it looked.
Final Image
I edited a photo of Abdul using Photoshop. I first found a picture of a fish then put it on Photoshop. I then took a picture of Abdul where he put his hands up to pretend that he's holding the fish's mouth open. I then put that on Photoshop. I edited the picture of Abdul and put it on Photoshop. I did this to create a surrealistic picture.
Work influenced by Ben heine
I'm going to use the same style of Surrealism as Ben Heine, however he drew faces or objects on plain paper and then put it in reality. I'm going to use the same idea but use magazine pages. I will rip off certain parts of the faces as I want to focus on portrait pictures.
Worst picture
This is my worst picture because it doesn't look realistic at all. The picture is meant to show an older man's face but I haven't lined the nose up correctly. His hand doesn't look right either.
Best picture
This is my best picture because it looks realistic. It makes it look like Adam actually looks like that. The eyes are on point and the nose is on point as well. The exposure is good, my focus point is on his face and I've used a large depth of field.

Evaluation
I didn't like this topic as I found it hard to come up with ideas related to surrealism. However when I used Ben's idea, I feel like this worked well and I liked the overall images, especially the last picture.
I think the last picture with Adam is the best one, because the exposure is great, the camera angle is perfect and the focus point is on his face. The magazine page piece also makes it seem like Adam actually looks like that and it makes it look like those are Adam's real eyes.
If I was to do this again, I would put him with a group of people to make it look more surrealistic.
